Dr. Thomas Gray, MHA

As the co-founder, vice president and co-medical director of Integrated Physician Services. Dr. Thomas Gray brings over 12 years of experience in emergency obstetrics to IPS. Dr. Gray provides emergency obstetric services, training, direction and support to patients, hospital staff members and private physicians. Since 2006, Dr. Gray has served as part of the Methodist Le-Bonheur Hospital’s Medical Staff leadership team in various positions and is the Medical Director of Life Choices Pregnancy Help Medical Clinic in Memphis. Dr Gray also serves as clinical instructor and preceptor for University of Tennessee at Memphis, University of Memphis, and Lincoln Memorial University.

Dr. Gray has been honored with the Best Doctor in Memphis and America Awards annually since 2003 and received Methodist Healthcare Foundation’s Living Award for Inspiration in Faith and Health in 2008.

When away from the demands of his career, Dr. Gray enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Dr. Arthur Townsend IV, MBA, FACOG

As a fourth generation physician, Dr. Townsend IV upholds the family tradition of improving and prolonging the lives of women. In his role as founder, president and co-medical director of IPS, Dr. Townsend focuses on the administrative, quality management and consulting aspects of the organization. He brings 9 years of emergency obstetrics experience to his work with The Pavillion at Germantown Labor and Delivery team. Dr. Townsend collaborates with the team to develop, design and deliver obstetric care procedures in support of patient satisfaction, enhanced clinical quality standards, and care coordination. Dr. Townsend is also a founding member of  the Society of Obstetric Hospitalists.

Emphasizing clinical effectiveness and patient quality, Dr. Townsend leads several cross functional teams of physicians and hospital associates. Dr. Townsend has also held a variety of positions at Methodist Le Bonheur, including: Chief of Staff, Medical Staff President, Medical Staff Representative, Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and Associate Chief of Obstetrics. Dr. Townsend has served as a clinical instructor for University of Tennessee - Memphis since 1994 and has served as Vice President and Chief Clinical Transformation Officer since 2016. Dr. Townsend also collaborates with city and county governments as a hospital system representative to respond to Covid-19 throughout the Mid-South.

Dr. Bo Charles Li, FACOG

An obstetrics hospitalist with Integrated Physician Services (IPS) since 2009, Dr. Bo Charles Li has over 12 years of expertise in emergency obstetrics and preterm labor. Dr. Li’s extensive background in cell biology, anatomy and microbiology make him a valuable and dependable resource for the IPS team, nurses and private physicians. Dr. Li is also a staff physician with OBGYN Associates of the Mid-South where he specializes in providing gynecological care. Dr. Li has been published in several professional journals and magazines on topics including endometrial biopsy, mammography and lung cancer. 

Dr. Li finds much to enjoy about Memphis.  He appreciates the kind people and the excellent food. Asian Palace tops his list of favorite eateries in the area due to the authentic cuisine and the excellent service.

Dr. Christine Mestemacher, FACOG

A member of the “Best Doctors” registry since 2001, Dr. Mestemacher is an experienced obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in women’s health. She founded the Mestemacher Clinic for Women in Germantown, Tennessee, providing a complete array of obstetric and gynecological care since 2007. Dr. Mestemacher closed her private practice after 25 years in 2022. She also works with Integrated Physician Services as an OBGYN Hospitalist at Methodist Germantown Hospital.

Dr. Mestemacher continues to practice at Methodist Germantown Hospital, Baptist Hospital for Women, and East Memphis Surgery Center where she holds admitting, medical and surgical privileges.
